Emmanuel was birthed on the 8th September 1996 in the living room of our home at 47 Waringstown Road with a few people who were hungry for more of God and trying to figure out how to show love to a hurting world.
Our hunger was contagious and others began to join us in a quest to see the kingdom of God preached here on earth rather than wait for it in heaven.
We met there for 18 months until May 1998 when God led us to Donaghcloney where we had 900 sq ft (room for 90 max). That became our spiritual home for almost 3 years but due to increasing numbers we purchased our first premises at 99-103 Union Street moving there on the 4th February 2001. There we had 3,700 sq ft, (room for 200 max) we could easily double our numbers and have room for the various activities that where now happening. Within a year our numbers had doubled and we started praying and looking again.
God led us to Castle Lane to a massive 37,500 sq ft. We moved in on 21st September 2003. We continue to seek the Lord in the direction of the church always aware that it must honour Him. It is not about us, people come and go but the purposes and plans of the Lord are eternal.
Our Logo is… ‘Loving God – Loving People – Loving the World’ which we get out of Matthew 22:35-37 when Jesus was asked what is the greatest commandment. His reply was “you shall love the Lord with all your heart, your soul and your mind and love your neighbour as yourself”.
